Thoughts on manual vs. automatic trans. for plowing
Even though I am a bit of an old timer myself, I think an automatic transmission is best. There is less shock load transmitted to the vehicle, less chance of getting stuck, and no clutch to wear out.
Stick shifts are ok for smooth operators, but clutch poppers can cause problems. Any thoughts?

You get better traction with an auto for sure . My left leg would fall off if I had to do my accounts with a Manual trans. . I have some knee issues that make that decision for me .
